They are instead affected by regular infantry technologies, like infantry armor and attack at the Blacksmith, Squires, and Arson. The Villagers converted to Flemish Militia do not benefit from Loom or other Villager-related bonuses (like Wheelbarrow).Villagers converted to Flemish Militia actually drop off all resources they are carrying in the stockpile, hence no resources are lost. However, only male Flemish Militia can be trained at the Town Centers later. Male and female Villagers are converted to male and female forms of the Flemish Militia, respectively. It is the fastest but most expensive unique technology to research. The feature of upgrading all Villagers to military units with the Flemish Revolution technology is similar to the Revolution feature of Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs and the Sepoy Resistance card of the Indians in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties as well as the Ragnarok god power of Age of Mythology.
#Lily tower of trample update
With update 50292, a new sound now plays when the enemy researches Flemish Revolution.Initially, Flemish Revolution costs 800 food, 450 gold.before the Burgundian reign of the low lands. The Flemish militia wields a goedendag (meaning "Good day" in Dutch) which was used to great effect by the guildsmen of Flanders' wealthy cities against the French knights at the Battle of the Golden Spurs near Kortrijk (Courtrai) on 11 July 1302, i.e. However, the specific event which the unique technology recalls (the Flemish peasant revolt of 1323–1328) is an anachronism in this regard.

The historical background to the Burgundians' unique technology is linked to their reign of parts of the lowlands (roughly the current territory of Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg) from 1384 until 1482 AD. The unit this revolution enables is the Flemish Militia, which is an infantry similar to the Spearman-line with an anti-cavalry bonus. A good, but risky use of Flemish Revolution is to have Villagers build "forward Town Centers" near the opponent's base and use the Town Centers to mass produce Flemish Militia after researching Flemish Revolution.

It is also recommended to build as many Town Centers as possible prior to researching Flemish Revolution, as it not only helps the Burgundian booming strategies, but the player can create Flemish Militia from their Town Centers. Flemish Revolution does not affect Fishing Ships, Trade Cogs, or Trade Carts, so the player should make use of those units if possible when intending to use this technology in order to not constrict their economy to absolute zero. Fortunately, Burgundian-captured Relics can generate food. Flemish Revolution is a technology that sacrifices the player's economy momentarily in favor of gaining a massive army, and as such, researching it can be a finishing move that may grant victory if the massive attack is successful.įlemish Revolution, like the Revolutions in Age of Empires III, can also be used as a stalemate breaker, or as a panic button in case the player needs to defend and does not have enough troops, but in any case, the player must remember that the economy must be reestablished later, so having a good stockpile of resources accumulated (particularly food for the Villagers) should be considered before clicking the revolution. Flemish Revolution brings to Age of Empires II a mechanic that already existed in Age of Mythology with the Ragnarok god power for the Norse and Age of Empires III with the Revolutions available to European civilizations, Incas (with the Tupac rebellion card) and Indians (with the Sepoy Revolution card).
